Pit hole toilets and alky bears

Day 21

We left at half 8 this morning, our third day on time in a row.  As we left we all shouted Muddy Funkers (our group nick name) and the group that was staying next to us turned around and looked at us like we were crazy.

So glad to be leaving this campsite as it was so basic.  The toilets were basically just holes in the groud.  Apparently they are called pit toilets, so disgusting.

We are off to Durango,Colorado today.  We had a look around town such a nice little place so cute.  There was like a festival or something going on with a band, dancing and cowboy comps.  We  saw the old steam train aswell which was so awesome.  Later on we did the alpine slide which is a concrete slide that you go down on a kart/sledge kinda thing.

Day 22

We woke up early to find a racoon had got into our food boxes and the rubbish was lying everywhere.  Going to Mesa Verde today for a ten mile hike.  The Mesa Verde is in a small town called Telluride.  We did the hike then we got a guided tour of the old houses in the cliff dwellings. After we set up, a few of us went up town and ended up at this local place called Steaming Bean's and Illama club.  We had such a good laugh.

Day 23

Woke up with such a bad hangover.  We went to a place called Maggie's for breakfast i couldn't even face eating anything, this is why i need irn bru in my life.  After breakfast Harry, Mark,Johno, Caddy, Nanda and me went hiking.  At first we just kept riding the gondolas to get some good pics.  We saw Tom Cruise's house he stays in when he is here.  The hike was only 2.5 miles so it wasn't that bad until it started to get really steep.

We meet up back up with the other tour and went back to Steaming Bean's and we were having a competition to see who had the best underwear on and i won haha.

Day 24

We woke up early to find that a bear had been in our camp and had been at our beer.   On the way to Moab today.  We stopped the the hole in the wall which was this really cheesy souvenir place. There was this small helicopter ride for kids and i managed to sqeeze in without getting stuck haha.

After dropping our trailer and setting up, we did for hikes.  The Park Avenue, balanced rock, landscape and the delicate arch which was the hardest.  The delicate arch was my fave even tho it was the hardest.  The views were so amazing so worth the hard work. Both groups were in competition with each other to get the best group photo and of course we won.

After a long day hiking both groups went to a place called McStiffs for pizza. Dont think i have ever seen so many pizzas in my life. We had like 14 or so.  We had such a laugh def the loudest in the place.

Day 25

Got up early to go to the library to put up some of my pics but visitors are only allowed 15 minutes.  We went fafting in the Colorado River. Some for each group went.  It was so cool and we got to swim in the river although the water was brown and the currents were quite strong.  We had a few rapids before having lunch on this beach but we had to finish it early as there was a storm brewing and it was going to catch up with us.  We swam for some more and and a few more rapids.  Harry couldn't get back into the raft it took like 6 people to help him back in haha.

As the storm had hit us we sat in the van and watched dvds and we realised that Austin Powers Goldmember was filmed in Moab where we were yesterday.
