Exploding taps, break dancing, jazz bars and harley's

Day 15

Bye Florida its been an experience

We got up at 7am again this morning to drive to New Orleans.  We drove through Alabama and Mississipi.  Before we left Jenny aka Jwow was filling up our water tank and she broke the tap off so it was like a huge water fountain that soaked everyone and everything haha.

On the way to our hotel in New Orleans we saw some buildings that were still damaged and abandoned from the hurricane.  It is so bad because the hurricane had happened five years ago and they are still struggling to get back to how they were.  It really breaks your heart seeing this.

We were staying in this huge house in the French Quarter.  We had dinner cooked for us which was a great New Orleans dish - Jambalaya.  We headed out out to check out the town and the pubs.  We found this bar called Fat Cats which was so amazing.  Good music, Good atmosphere and good drinks.  Mark got dragged up on stage to sing Play that funky music it was so funny.  Jane ended up meeting a guy who invited us back to his hotel room as they were having a after party.  The hotel was huge and so posh was like $1000 a night.

Day 16

Phil, Jenny and I went to town and got some food in a place called Market Cafe it was so good and the wee old guy that served us was so friendly.  While we were walking around town we came across more abandoned buildings.  Some had number carved onto the front of them which had been crossed out this is meant to show how many people died there during the hurricane it is so sad.

We went to a jazz bar called Fritzel's, there cocktail hurricane is the best cocktail i have ever had.  Me and Sophie had went to get some pizza and came across a guy dressed as a grenade which i just had to get a photo of and we got talking to these guys that were travelling around America like us but they were doing it on their own.  There was so many guys with Harley Davidson's that i had to get a pic of me on one since i love Harley's.

We went to the famous Cats which is a karoke bar and some guy bought me a drink just because i was Scottish and he had never met a Scottish guy before.
